Discussion Board 5

Please read the following article posted on the Chronically of Higher Education based on Clay Shirkey's book. Do you agree with his predictions? Please provide examples.

Skirkey is correct on how the Internet is changing our lives. He makes minor changes in his classroom and facility so that he can demonstrate how things are changing quickly in a physical appearance to demonstrate how quickly the Internet has changed our lives and how it still is changing as and how we communicate and work within even our work atmospheres today. Take example Facebook and how people connect so readily and easily multiple people at the same time through a simple program, but not so simple. About how we can look up almost any kind of data technology or information readily and easily on the computer without ever picking a book or manual. Most of all your auto manufacturers and put every bit of their information for the last 15 to 20 years online try Nissan Kia or any of the rest. How about how we buy and purchase things, we no longer have to go to a store to get many things or even have it order them. With my job I work with mobile training units for coastal Bend College and much of the time I have to look online to find equipment and materials or even technologies as needed in the trailers to keep them functionally at their maximum online because no one in South Texas has the materials available. I use online catalog data and information searches to find the materials I need to keep our trailers functionally and ready to go. So his book is. On point as the we have changed so much in a short time and the changes are accelerating at a faster rate than most people can comprehend. Excellent article and book.
